I was privileged to be able to take part in a fundraising event for Lucy Air Ambulance for Children by donating one of my wildlife canvases for their Charity raffle.
Lucy is dedicated to delivering fixed wing air transfers for seriously ill babies and children up to the age of 16 in the UK who require an elective (planned) transfer service. They do so by working closely with the NHS and their preferred air charter partner Capital Air Ambulance, the largest provider of air ambulance services in the UK. The service is provided at no cost to the families of the children involved.
Following the event I received a very nice letter from Charlotte Young, the Charity’s Corporate Partnerships Manager:
“Dear Adriaan,
On behalf of Lucy Air Ambulance for Children I would like to say a huge thank you for donating such a fabulous prize to our raffle for us to use at our event last week at the London Capital Club.
Being able to feature your exclusive limited edition print made the raffle more enticing and exciting for our guests. It was so wonderful to be able to offer something so special! Thank you.
We raised an incredible £1,815 through the raffle. This is a fantastic amount and exceeded our expectations.
£1,815 will make a significant difference to the work that Lucy Air Ambulance for Children does. In fact, it will fund all of the medical consumables required for 7 of our flights. These are single use items only, for infection control purposes. In the picture below you can see baby Sofia using some of this equipment.
It was also so nice to meet you at the event. I’m glad you were able to come and learn a little more about what we do.
I do hope we get to meet again in the future and that your association with Lucy Air Ambulance won’t end here, but for now, I want to say thank you for your brilliant support to date.
Kind Regards,
Charlotte Young
Corporate Partnerships Manager”
